Cycle Club Sudbury had four riders out on Monday competing in the B10/38 open time trial on the A14 near Rougham.

Strong winds made the course quick on the way out, but hampered progress on the way back. Open TT regulars James Rush, Damon Day and Dave Crisp recorded 22-21, 22-34 and 23-17 respectively on this 10-mile course, and Dan Upton, making a rare open appearance, achieved a commendable 25-03.

Also in open action was Jonathan Wetherley, in the 10-mile TT on the B10/37R course, in which he came 10th in 22-31.

The club TT took place on the Brent Eleigh circuit in near ideal conditions, with the wind helping on the drag up through Little Waldingfield. Several riders achieved personal bests, including fastest Rob Davies, 18-27, and second placed Rush 18-35. Third fastest was Matt Shotbolt, 18-54, whose TT season is building nicely.

David Fenn, leader in the points series, improved by over a minute on his target time, as did Crisp, Trevor Pillet and Upton. Tonight’s event takes place on the Lavenham 10 course and starts at 7pm.
