Seven pupils from St Margaret’s Prep School Equestrian Team competed in the NSEA Inter-Schools Grass Roots Regional Show Jumping Championships at Norton Heath.

Having all qualified throughout the year at various shows, the school, from Gosfield in Essex, entered five teams across three different heights and six rode on an individual basis as well.

Against stiff competition from both junior and senior schools, the children had some fantastic results, competing in some instances with people up to 19 years of age.

The 40cm Team, consisting of Lauren Maxted-Page (10), Isabelle Maxted-Page (10), Isabella Parr (7) and Amelia Tredinnick (7), were placed first, with Lauren also achieving first in her individual event.

There were two 50cm Teams, consisting of Lauren and Isabelle Maxted-Page and Tredinnick, together with Charlotte Lane (9) and Aaron Vickery (9), who finished fifth and sixth, with Charlotte achieving a respectable fourth in her individual event.

Charlotte also achieved a prize for style in her 60cm Individual event.

The final member of the St Margaret’s team was Toby Tredinnick (aged four).
