More than 90 horses and ponies competed in the 36 classes culminating in a field of more than 180 on the day.

Club chairman Mandy Poulson said: “It worked extremely well and it was pleasing to hear lots of very positive comments from the competitors with regards to the new-look show.”

There were ring championships in rings one, two and three where first and second-placed competitors from all classes came forward at the end of the day for final judging.

Ring one champion was Joshua Twitchen, from the home club and from Lavenham, on Hisley Provost, while Rring two champion was Andrew Schofield, of White Colne, on Rock on Robbie and ring three champion was Sharon Frost, of Ipswich, with Naboo.

The club has two further events this year, a fun horse and gog show and gymkhana on July 14 and a Showjumping and Working Hunter show in September. Details available at http://ldec.onesuffolk.net
