Rain days before the event and overnight did not stop the sixth and final round of the 2012 Bowers Motorcycle/Eastern Centre 2 Man Contest at Foxborough Quarry on Sunday.

Some of the vehicles had to be towed on to the parking area, but the organisers Sudbury Motorcycle Club were determined to run this event as other motorcycle events in East Anglia had been cancelled due to the bad weather.

A shorter distant course, leaving out the extreme parts and the big bog, but included the smaller bog after it was drained, was used.

It was hard going for the riders and the conditions on the day hampered the organisers from finalising the results so it leaves Stephen Revett/Lee Whitney and Adam Leeks/Darren Mayhew in suspense to which is this year’s winning Championship Class winner while in the Clubman Class Tom Sargent/Ross Taylor and Lewis Bond/Carl Honeywood are in the same position.

In the Experts Class it is the case of which team have finished second and third as Michael Wyatt/Richard Bensley have already won this class.

The Sudbury club said they were disappointed not able to declare the results at the time of going to press, but they will be included in next week’s Free Press.
