Acton racing driver Patrick Mortimer achieved his aim of two top-10 finishes in the latest two rounds of the Mini Challenge series at Oulton Park.
He finished 10th in both races at the Cheshire circuit over the weekend to move up two places to 13th out of 20 in the overall JCW standings.
The Sudbury-based businessman bounced back after a crash following a brake failure in the final test session on Friday which left his car without a near side front wheel and a broken steering rack.
With his mechanical team working right up until the last minute to repair the car for qualifying, Mortimer managed to get 15th place on the grid from the 27 cars.
In the first race he climbed up the field to finish 10th and the 51-year-old held that position from 10th on the grid in the second race.
Mortimer is now targeting a single-digit finish in the next two rounds at Wiltshire circuit Castle Coombe from August 3.
