Halstead Motorocycle Club took part in the Norwich Viking-hosted round four of the Eastern Centre Solo Motocross Championships in Lyng.
The star of the day in the expert class was Ryan Houghton (Heart of England MCC), who took a hat-trick of wins and overall on the day with the maximum 25 points for each race.
Reigning champion Carl Nunn took third place overall on the day.
Of the 35 expert entries, seven were from Halstead and District Motorcycle Club.
The pick of those seven riders was Jason Morland with 10th overall.
Brendon Mayers was next with 15th place while Brad Tomlin scored just eight points to leave him in 19th overall.
In the Junior Championship, most successful was Harry Mills with eighth overall and Jordan Cutting 15th overall.
In Junior Group B, two second places plus a 10th was enough to give Tom Archer second overall.
In Junior Group C, a hat-trick of wins saw Nathan Attwood take overall on the day while Lawrence Gowers — on a 125cc Husqvarna machine — and second overall in Junior Group D following a race card of two second places and a fourth spot.
The next round of the Eastern Centre Solo MX Championships will be held at Blaxhall (Woodbridge and District Motorcycle Club) on Sunday, June 8.
The Motocross Nationals (round three) were held at Skelder Bank, in Whitby, where Halstead’s Lewis Tombs was in action in the MX2 class.
He took sixth overall from three races riding a Jar Honda machine.
Sam Peck and Matthew Skeet continue to get among the results at trials meetings in the past two weeks.
Halstead club members who act at marshals at motocross meetings are in for a busy time.
On Sunday, the Maxxis British MX Championships will be held at Canada Heights followed by the British GP, MXGP and MX2 classes at Matterley Basin on May 24-25, and Braintree club’s motocross on Sunday, June 1, at Stisted.
