SUDBURY Gymnastics Club’s county grades and floor and vault gymnasts have completed another very successful season.

The final event was the Suffolk Floor and Vault competition held in Ipswich, in which the girls took a host of medals.

In the 6/7 age group, Alyssia Gronland won silver, Kalli Coburn took the bronze medal in the 7/8 age group with Briony Crawford in fourth and Ella Manby showing good confidence in her first competition.

In the 8/9 age group, team-mates Gracie Arulampalam and Dara Bevan were close in scores once again with Gracie taking gold and Dara silver.

There was another large section in the 10/11 age group. Chelsea Cullen missed out by only 0.15 to finish in fourth, with Elyse Francis finishing in seventh.

The 11/12 age group was a fantastic podium for Sudbury with Jade Collins winning gold, Niamh Bowyer silver and Imogen Cayley bronze. Millie Albery finished 0.30 behind the medals in fifth place.

The final age group saw Georgina Turner take another silver medal with Chloe Page in fifth.

Earlier events were the invitational Bury Floor and Vault and Four Piece Novice competitions which attracted record attendances from 13 clubs from around the east region, swelling the numbers of gymnasts to as many as 37 in an age group.

The Sudbury gymnasts all delivered confident performances with excellent results in their respective age groups.

In the floor and vault competition, Elouise Hayward competed as a guest as she was too young to take part as a competitor but impressed everyone by scoring in first place.

There were golds for Jade Collins, Jolee Finch, and silvers for Dara Bevan, Niamh Bowyer, Georgina Turner and, in the biggest group of the day, Chelsea Cullen.

Many of the other gymnasts finished just outside the medals, including Bethany Thompson, Imogen Cayley, Millie Albery, Maddy Wagland, Isabella Cross, Megan Cullen, Elyse Francis, Cerys Wrigley-Moss, Erica Halliwell, Ismay Hathaway and Estelle Hewitt.

In the Bury Novice Four Piece competition, there were golds for Millie Albery and Jolee Finch, Chelsea Cullen took silver in her age group, and bronzes went to Jade Collins and Lucy Tate.

Gracie Arulampalam, Dara Bevan, Ellison Richards-Kemp, Cerys Wrigley-Moss, Niamh Bowyer, Imogen Cayley and Georgina Turner also helped maintain the high rankings for Sudbury.
