London 2012: Louise Jukes and Team GB lose must-win fourth handball game

LOUISE Jukes and her Team GB handball team-mates will not challenge for an Olympic medal after their 31-25 Group A defeat to Angola on Friday morning gives them no chance of qualifying going into the final game.

It was Team GB’s fourth straight defeat in the competition, but was an end-to-end nail-biting affair with former Harleston Magpie Jukes’ home side narrowly trailing 14-10 at half-time.

Team GB have one group game left in the competition when they play for pride against Croatia on Sunday, where they will be looking to make history by winning the country’s first ever handball match.

Great Britain have only been competing in international handball for the last six years.
