With just three weeks to go in the Sudbury and District Snooker League, Lavenham Royal British Legion A are in pole position to secure the championship after a 4-1 home win over Long Melford Working Men’s Club A, their 13th win in 15 matches played.
Their lead at the top is now five points after second-placed Earls Colne B were beaten 4-1 at home by Lavenham RBL B in a match that saw four of the five frames decided on pink or black.
The result puts Lavenham RBL B into third spot, one point behind Earls Colne B with a game in hand.
There was another victory for S Club 47, who won by the odd frame against Sudbury Snooker Club B.
Earls Colne A had a 4-1 win at the league’s bottom club, Sible Hedingham, while Sudbury Snooker Club A’s recent improved form continued after a 3-2 win at fourth-placed LMWMC C.
