Golfers braved the cold to pit their skills against Ipswich Town FC players past and present at Stoke-by-Nayland Golf Club.

With snow, sleet and icy temperatures, the club’s annaul Spring Golf Day did not live up to its name but the arctic weather did nothing to dampen golfers’ spirits and a total of 16 teams set out on the course.

The whole first team squad were on hand to meet the teams upon arrival and enjoy a chat in the warm before the competition began.

Jay Tabb was the sole representative of the current team playing in the competition itself, with a few of the usual golfers nursing minor injuries.

Ex-players Jason Dozzell, Bryan Hamilton, Mick Lambert and Simon Milton took part, as did coaching staff Bryan Klug, Mark Kennedy, Andy Liddell and Russell Osman.

RESULTS: 1st placed team - UFS (82 points) Ray Ludlum, Lee Marsh, Derek Hateley and Dean Cornelius; 2nd placed team, on count back - Eastern Straw (81 points)
