Last Thursday saw the second running of The Pot Luck Doubles competition, run by the Sudbury and District Snooker League.

It attracted 26 entries with players seeded into two groups and drawn out with a partner.

All rounds were played over one frame, and after some hard-fought matches the final eventually came down to John Goodchild, of Lavenham Legion A, and his partner Joe Wilkinson, of Sudbury SC B, against Colin Ballard and Jonesey, of Earls Colne B.

Goodchild and Wilkinson prevailed to take the trophy which was presented to the winning pair by donator Tibby Maxim.

The league wished to thanks Louise Milton at Sudbury Snooker Club for hosting the event and laying on food for the evening, as well as wishing all players a happy Christmas. League matches will resume again on January 8.
