Gymnasts from Sudbury enjoyed more rewards for their hard work recently, in Club Grades and National Grades competitions.

The girls were all required to perform routines on floor, beam and bars, execute a vault and demonstrate their strength and flexibility in range and conditioning routines.

Results at the Suffolk Club Grades were: Grade 14 - Kirsty Dinnell passed with distinction; Grade 13 - Helena Read-Luxton ranked third with distinction, with teammate Hollie Hayward also with passing; Grade 12 Evie Stokes-Shinn earned a distinction; Grade 11 - Ebony Tait passed.

The second competition was the National Grade 8 qualifier.

At this tough level, both gymnasts entered knew they had something to prove and yet were further hampered on the day:

Becky Lawrence bravely decided she would compete, despite having tonsillitis and still managed to gain a comfortable pass score.

Teammate Louisa Pettican also finished well within the score boundary despite omitting a whole move and making some costly uncharacteristic mistakes on floor.
