THE Halstead Road Runners’ juniors are proving they are the team to beat in the third race of the 53-12 cross country league, which was held at Gosfield School.
The young squad only have runners in four of the six age categories, so to score high points is always going to be difficult.
This, however, did not prove to be a problem as they won two of the four groups with Halstead’s Freddie Trevanion and Luke Allen winning their age categories.
A sea of yellow vests appeared at the finish line, consisting of Tom Baslington, Emma Lovegrove, Henry Trevanion and Freddie Trevanion. With an exciting battle between the club mates, Baslingdon managed to pull away and finish next for Halstead. Ethan Constable also ran well in his cross country debut.
The Halstead Juniors finished joint first alongside Discovery Triathlon Club.
