Halstead runners on the podium

Halstead Road Runners’ Danni Evans and Hazel Buist dominated the finishers’ podium in Sunday’s Flitch Way Half Marathon.

Evans took first-placed female in a time of one hour and 44 minutes and 18 seconds with Buist third 1.51.58.

Megan Hollinshead finished in a new personal best (pb) of 2.03.46, knocking a huge 36 minutes from her pervious best time.

Holly Blackwell marked her Halstead debut with a solid run finishing her first half marathon in 2.09.49

n on Sunday marathon legend Andy Wilmot finished the Yeovil Marathon in Devon in 4hrs 05mins, while Jim Leaney marked his debut at the distance with a very respectable 5.12 in the Rock N Roll Marathon in Liverpool ahead of his 12 hour endurance race this weekend.

Aaron Heard ran in the Bury St Edmunds Friday 5 race series and was delighted with his time of 38mins 49secs.

Saturday’s Parkruns were also full of achievements with Julia Woolnough finishing in a pb of 26.35 at Cornard’s 5k while Maurice Young smashed the course record in his age category finishing in 32.56.

Ian Chandler’s fine form continued as he also managed a pb at the Notley event, finishing fifth in 20.51.
