Thirty of the top sidecar cross crews in the country are expected to provide a thrilling climax to the season at Halstead’s Wakes Colne track on Sunday.

The north Essex circuit will host the penultimate round of the Maxxis ACU British Side Cross Championsip 2013, along with supporting solos.

The field will feature 10-times British Champion Stuart Brown and his passenger Josh Chamberlain along with the Millard brothers and last year’s runners-up Richard Jenkins and Dan Chamberlain.

Admission is £10 for adults, £8 for seniors and 12 to 16-year-olds with children under-12 free. Programmes on the day will be priced at £2.

Halstead and District Motorcycle Club members have been working to get the circuit in top condition, worthy of the holding the national series event.

Meanwhile, The Wulfsport British Masters MX Championships final round at Pontrilas had to be cancelled due to wet weather.

Halstead rider Lewis Tombs was in 11th place at the end of series standings in the Battery Energy Pro MX2 Class.

Expert rider Phil Burton was sixth overall in the adult open class at the Norfolk and Suffolk Junior MCC meeting, held at Hockham.
