Eleven Halstead Road Runners competed in Sunday’s Pleshey Half-Marathon.

Mike Grealy’s performance secured him first place in the Essex County Grand Prix series.

There were several PBs, including Jon Greenley, who knocked an impressive eight minutes off his previous best.

n Multi Sport specialist Mel Candler tackled the Great Notley Duathlon over distances of a 4K run, 20k bike and 4K run, finishing in 1:19:11 to take sixth-placed lady.

Andy Wilmot ran a marathon double at Barrow, near Bury St Edmunds. On Saturday he completed the 26.2-mile course in 4:30, and on Sunday in 4:41.

In Sunday’s Flower of Suffolk trail marathon, starting at Walberswick, a few minor navigational issues saw Dan Smith run 28 miles, finishing in 5:34.
