Sudbury Tennis Club teams have made a great start to the Halstead and District League season following the addition of some new members.

The men’s A team top Division Two with five wins from six matches, while the C team — captained by Paul Rainer — have a 100 per cent record at the top of Division Four.

The B team have had three close losses and one win among their five matches.

Sarah Garman, Zoe Fuller, Becky Younger and Julie Woodward have guided the ladies’ A team to second in Division One, while the B and C teams are in Division Two.

The B team lead the way with a 100 per cent record, while the C team of Barbara Poulter, Veronica Owen, Fiona Garman and Marianne Anthony are fifth.

The mixed A team, who thrashed Dunmow 9-0 last week, have three wins and two defeats, with Zoe Fuller, Sarah Garman, Becky Younger. James Ruse, Ludo Surina and Richard Oldershaw making up the squad.

Lyn Greaves and Jacob Morgan have won all their matches for the mixed B team, but the side are fourth in their division.
