Two Sudbury gymnasts caught the eye in the recent British Gymnastics Club grades to earn spots at the regional finals to be held at Pipers Vale Gymnastics Club in Ipswich on Sunday.
Megan Vowles and Lizzie Porter both live in Sudbury, but are part of the Bury St Edmunds-based BurySpectrum group.
Vowles recently competed in the grade 10 age 12 and above section and impressed everyone with a high score of 45.75, earning her first place, a distinction and sought-after spot in the regional finals.
This came after only joining BurySpectrum less than a year ago, in which time she has gone from strength to strength, not only gaining first place at the gymnastic grades, but also earning the title of Level 4 Champion out of age.
Also in the 12 and above age group, Porter scored 44.65 to place her third, ensuring a place in the regional final.
She also joined the club within the last year and has performed outstandingly since joining the club.
Meanwhile, Gosfield’s Kayleigh Gazmuri-Symmes, 10, who attends Gosfield Community Primary School, passed her grade 12 and has gained silver at level six since joining BurySpectrum.
