Ian Gardener proved on top form once again to net victory in Joes Road Angling Club’s match at Aarons Lake in Chelmsford.

Among of field of 18 anglers, whose combined catches topped two tonnes, Gardner came out on top with a winning haul of 431lb 7oz ahead of Kevin Forster (370lb 1oz), Martin Huckwell (349lb 12oz), Mark Roscoe (338lb 2oz), Paul Brown (322lb 3oz) and Rod Adams (310lb 12oz).

n Only six members chose to fish Colne Senior’s match at Domsey Farm Great Tey.

Bob Huint came first with a catch of 39lbs 13oz, with George Bonner (21lb) just behind, while Paul Carter (15lb 80z) and Ray Buckland (13lb 8oz) were third and fourth.
