A PACKED nine days of golf competitions start today at Newton Green Golf Club.
Seven events are being staged as part of the club’s annual Jonathan Lambert Festival of Golf, which runs from Tuesday, July 31, until August 4, with large numbers of golfers already signed up.
Before the festival tees off the club will be running the four-day long Kelvin Sansum Memorial Trophy, held in honour of its late greenkeeper, with proceeds going to the charity of his family’s choosing.
Full entry shotgun starts will mean the course is closed to visitors on three mornings next week, as it will be on the morning of Saturday, August 4, when there is a 130 competititor line-up for the Jonatham Lambert Centenary Salver.
The week winds up with a presentation evening on August 4 with entertainment provided by Lady Killers New Orleans Jazz Band.
