GREAT Britain and England men’s hockey team manager, Andy Halliday, will be at Sudbury Sports Centre on Sunday to pass on his skills to other coaches in Suffolk.

Sudbury Hockey Club have pulled off a major coup in their bid to re-establish themselves as the county’s premier venue for indoor hockey by getting Halliday, also the coach of the Great Britain indoor men’s team, to agree to the session with around 14 other coaches from 10.30am.

A number of under-18s players from Sudbury Hockey Club will be used on the day to help develop indoor hockey coaching skills to drive up participation across the county.

Halliday’s appearance came about as a result of Mark Dudley, head of junior hockey at Sudbury, requesting to watch a senior GB training session after the club received grants last year to restart indoor hockey in the town.
