Earls Colne A are the early pace setters in the Sudbury and District Snooker League after a 5-0 whitewash of Sudbury SC A, who are yet to register a win.

Luke Heard was in top form knocking in the top break so far, a fine 44, in his win over Jon Tatum.

Colne were made to work hard in the other frames however as both Matt Cooney and James Monk were pushed all the way to the final black by Tibby Maxim and Dean Marshall respectively.

Lavenham Legion B are second, a point behind the leaders after they secured a 4-1 win at the Hedingham. The Hedingham’s lone point was secured by captain George Williams who turned in a top display in beating Dave Mortier.

S Club 47 laid down an early marker by beating last season’s runners-up Earls Colne B 3-2. Joe Dewey, Martin Maxim and Lee Hodgson were the successful cuemen for the hosts.

After failing to pick up a point in their first two matches there was better news for Sudbury SC B who overcame Sible Hedingham 4-1.

Lavenham Legion A beat Melford Working Men’s C 3-2.
