A stunning ride by Ashton Dyson saw him rise to the top of the Cycling Club Sudbury midweek time trial series leader board, deposing long time leader David Fenn in the process.

He improved by nearly a minute on the Brent Eleigh course as most riders during the evening posted personal best times. Justin Bellward consolidated his third position with a good points scoring ride and both Colin Harris and David Miller made inroads to catching those above them with useful points.

Young Molly Cutmore raised a few eyebrows with her first ride on the course and even managed to beat two older members with her time. Another young member, Tabby Skeats rode a 2-Up with Martin North and also recorded a very good time just behind Cutmore.

The overall winner on the night was Ipswich BC rider Andy Kennedy with the fast improving Damon Day just behind.

Meanwhile, seven club members took part in Sunday’s Stowmarket Open TT on the course near Wickham Market. The early morning start was also held in perfect conditions and the smooth road surface ensured some very good times.

Jody Downs topped the CCS times with a fast sixth place followed by John Bradbury and James Rush in eighth which was good enough to win the trio the team prize.

Damon Day, Colin Harris, David Fenn and David Miller also all gave promising displays.
