Sudbury Gymnastics Club’s County Grades squad were all smiles at the end of their first competition of the year, with all 20 entrants passing.
The Suffolk County Grades competition saw entries from clubs all over Suffolk and all 20 Sudbury competitors were well within the mark boundaries.
The competition requires gymnasts to complete a pre-set selection of skills in routines on floor, beam and bars along with a vault and also a range and conditioning set to assess their strength and flexibility skills.
At grade one, the youngest members all performed confidently in their first grading.
Keeley Tait passed, with Briony Crawford, Ella Manby and Melanie Smith gaining distinctions. Daisy Shadbolt also gained distinction and ranked third overall.
In grade two, Kalli Coburn gained a comfortable pass, with Elouise Hayward gaining distinction.
Sudbury took all three podium spots in grade three with Dara Bevan, Rochelle Gordan-Scott and Gracie Arulampalam first, second and third respectively and all gaining distinctions.
Sudbury also topped the grade four section with first and second places from Niamh Bowyer and Jade Collins respectively and distinctions were in order for teammates Chelsea Cullen and Cerys Wrigley-Moss. Ellison Richards-Kemp and Imogen Cayley also passed at grade four.
Grade five entrants for Sudbury were Millie Albery and Chloe Page, who finished in first and second places respectively, and teammates Lucy Tate and Jolee Finch achieved the tough requirements for grade six and both passed.
