Halstead Road Runner Andy Carter came eighth out of 79 finishers in the Hylands hobble, a 12.5-mile trail run from Galleywood Common, in a time of one hour 49 minutes 3 seconds.
Phil Davies recorded a time of 2.00.09 and 36th place as he returns from injury.
Eight Road Runners took part in the Stebbing Remembrance Sunday 10-mile road race.
In cool, calm and sunny conditions Stuart Prestney was first home for the club in ninth position (62mins 44secs).
Stewart Ellis, running for Braintree, was next home in 72.05, closely followed by Mike Grealy in 72.22.
Hot on Grealy’s heels were Paul Hinsley (72.27) and Glyn Stone (72.35). Del Harrington recorded 85.33.
A fast-finishing Chris Hill crossed the line in 84.40 in 223rd position out of the 407 finishers.
Club chairman Keith Thorogood paced Joanne Hinckley to perfection in a new personal best and her first sub-90-minute time.
Halstead had a terrific turnout at the 53-12 XC sponsored race around Great Notley Country Park of 18 men and seven women.
The men performed very well in the five-mile race with second-place behind Hadleigh Hares but the women finished seventh, giving Halstead an overall position of fourth out of the seven teams in Pool B.
