Sudbury Snooker Club B overcame rivals Sudbury Snooker Club D as captain Colin Cole inspired them to victory to see them go joint top of the Widdop League with Sible Hedingham.

Due to commitments Mick Drury of the D side played his two frames one after the other and lost both on the final black to Cole and Martin Maxim.

With the D side two frames down, Shaun Boldock overcame Frank Ervine — not only pulling back the aggregate, but putting his side ahead in the match despite giving away 25 points on the final blue before recovering.

The next frame saw Maxim, of the B side, defeat the captain of the D side, Bill Hemmett.

Cole then overcame Ervine in a thrilling encounter before Boldock tasted success in his final game to wrap up victory.
