The fifth round of the Maxxis British Sidecarcross Championship saw bright sunshine greet 30 of the top sidecar crews at Little Loveney Hall, Wakes Colne on Sunday.

As expected, current champions, Stuart Brown and Josh Chamberlain took the overall win from their three races to stay top of the series standings in the sidecar championship.

Among the supporting solos, top Halstead and District Motorcycle Club rider Jason Morland took second place overall in the Allcomers Group A while Brad Tomlin finished fifth overall.

It was looking good for Tomlin to take a top three place until his third race when he came off and did not finish.

In the Allcomers Group B, Mark Relland had a brilliant day with a hat-trick of wins, his best race being his third, winning by more than 16 seconds.

In the NGR Over-30s Championship, John Hinz took top spot with three race wins, while next best was Mark Gardner with ninth overall.

This meeting marked the end of the 2015 motocross season at Wakes Colne for the Halstead club.

Norwich Viking Motorcycle Club took in round six of the Eastern Centre Solo Motocross Championships, held at Lyng.

As usual this season, Morland and Tomlin were prominent in the results in the Expert Championship, with Morland taking fifth overall on the day and Tomlin seventh.

Outside the top 10 were Brendon Mayers, Phil Burton and Bradley Howlett in the Junior Championship.

As the season comes to an end, veteran John Hinz, a Halstead club rider since 1996, is gaining better results with fourth overall at Lyng.

In Class C, Joe Marsh was third overall while Thomas Pearmain topped Class D.
