Tudor Archers’ annual Valentine’s shoot took place at Sudbury Sports Centre with the hosts clinching a medal haul of their own.

Clubs from across Essex and Suffolk competed in the Fita 25 event with five dozen arrows being shot at a 60cm face from 25 metres away.

Katrina Theobald and Tony Sewell got the Archers’ medal tally under way with gold in the couples, combined with a score of 939 out of 1200, while Alain Jacq clinched silver in the men’s longbow section with a score of 254 out of 600.

The Archers received bronze in the team discipline with a combined score of 1624 out of 2400.

n Lee Morgan-Jones (249/300) led the way in the recurve section of the latest round of the Bray One League competition on Monday, followed by Steve Wright (223/300), Neil Porter (229/300), Leon Stephens (237/300) and Brian Miller (219/300). The top two longbow were Alain Jacq (143/300) and Peter Warner (128/300).
