National fishing month has begun and, with the school holidays in full swing, Sudbury and Melford District Angling Association has reminded parents that juniors are not permitted to fish after dark unless accompanied by an adult member.
No juniors under the age of 12 are permitted to fish the Sudbury common lands and Friars Meadow unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Junior day tickets for the Sudbury town river are available from the local tackle shop and there is no price increase on junior club cards.
There are several bus stops near to the town’s river sections, but no fishing without a rod licence.
Anglers are also reminded that on Saturday it is Sudbury Rowing Club’s annual ‘R’, which will involve the Priory, Friars Meadow and Pecks Meadow sections.
