Halstead Marathon superstar Andy Wilmot completed the epic Barrow challenge near Bury St Edmunds — four off-road marathons in four days.
The veteran runner, who passed 500 marathons in 2010, completed the gruelling set of marathons in times of: four hours 38 minutes, 4.48, 4.37 and 4.38.
Fellow Halstead Road Runner Jeremy Gore completed the Weald Park XC 10k near Brentwood.
This was a three-lap course around Weald Park and the final race in the Essex 10k XC series, with Gore recording a time of one hour six minutes and five seconds.
Multisport and long-distance bike specialist Peri Collins completed the Blackwater sprint triathlon in Maldon.
It consisted of a 400m pool swim, a 23km cycle and a 6km run with the cool and breezy conditions excellent for triathlon.
Collins last took part in this event in 2010, but smashed that time by five minutes and three seconds this year.
Collins was seven minutes faster on the bike, which she feels is a result of her recent long-distance escapade from Land’s End to John o’Groats.
Her split times were: Swim 7.48, cycle 46.44, run 29.03, giving a total time of 1.26.11.
Collins achieved 69th place out of an overall 148 and was 10th female out of 46.
Andrew Warner and Mike Grealy made the short trip to Langham for the annual 10k race.
In near-perfect running conditions they both showed a return to form with season’s best times.
Warner finished 42nd in a field of 399 runners in 40 minutes 37 seconds.
A little further back was Grealy in 42.30 in 65th place overall, but second in his age category.
