HALSTEAD and District Motorcycle Club finished its motocross season at Little Loveney Hall with the final round of the Maxxis British Sidecarcross Championships on Sunday.
Stuart Brown and Josh Chamberlain retained their title from 2010 with two race wins and a second place.
Taking second in the final championship points table were Dan and Joe Millard. The duo started the day with a second place finish before losing the plot a bit in the second race to come seventh, but returned to form with another second place in their final race.
In the solo supporting, Carl Nunn enjoyed a hat-trick of wins in the expert class of the Eastern Centre MX Championships, pipping Syd Bales to the post every time.
Local rider Jason Morland saw diminishing returns through the day, with finishes of third, fifth and eighth.
In the junior championship, three qualifying heats were held to determine who went through to the two championship races, the winners being Joe Bamfield, William King and Mason Law.
Bamfield, King and Sam Mitchell took the top spots in the first championship race with Law settling for fifth place.
In the second race, there was a tremendous battle for second place between Law and Mitchell, Law finally winning out in the final lap, while Bamfield claimed the number one spot again.
l Richard May and Ryan Boydell were the lucky entrants who enjoyed a free day out at the event after winning the Suffolk Free Press competition for two pairs of tickets.
