Hadleigh Cricket Club fell agonisingly short of a trip to Lords for the national indoor finals after suffering defeat in the regional finals.

Having won the Indoor League competition at Gainsborough Sports Centre, Hadleigh secured a 32-run success over Sawbridgeworth in a county play-off encounter to secure their place at the regional finals day, held at Kent Cricket Club.

Overcoming Guildford by five wickets in the semi-finals, Hadleigh faced Broadstairs, who had beaten Hampstead for a chance to play in the showpiece final at Lords.

However, Hadleigh could not reproduce their previous form as they slipped to defeat to narrowly miss out.
