DAVID Porter has been elected chairman of the Suffolk FA following an FA Council meeting.

He succeeds Mick Pearce, who decided not to seek re-election.

Porter serves the North Suffolk Area on the council and is a level five referee.

Speaking about his election, Mr Porter said: “I am delighted to have been elected as Suffolk FA county chairman.

“I am relishing the opportunity of building on the legacy Mick Pearce left.”

David Rose was re-elected as vice-chairman at the full council meeting.

Dave Steward and Andy Wilding were also re-elected to the board of directors.
