Lawrence Yiga netted twice, while Ryan Henshaw and Sam Clarke were also on target in AFC Sudbury’s 4-0 triumph over Tilbury in Ryman League Division One North on Saturday.

That result moved the Yellows into the play-off places ahead of their trip to Kirkley and Pakefield in the Suffolk Premier Cup on Tuesday.

In the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, Hadleigh United slipped off the top after a 3-3 draw with Kirkley.

Cornard United recorded back-to-back victories for the first time in more than five years by seeing off AFC Sudbury Reserves 2-0.

In rugby union, Sudbury continued their storming start to the London Three North East season by thrashing Billericay to remain at the summit.
