Sudbury Rugby Club recorded their seventh consecutive victory in London Three North East to go top of the league.

Cantabrigian’s 27-18 loss at Harlow opened the door for Suds, who won 38-14 at old Brentwoods to take full advantage.

Shaun Smith, Tom Summers, Troye Streicher, Nick Robinson and Louis Boydell touched down to put Sudbury 33-0 up at half-time and Summers added his second after the interval.

AFC Sudbury were forced into an FA Trophy first qualifying round replay at the Wardale Williams Stadium on Tuesday (7.45pm) after higher-league Bognor Regis Town netted a late equaliser on Saturday.

Cameron Jerome got both goals for the Canaries as they saw off Bolton Wanderers 2-1 on Friday night, while David McGoldrick and Daryl Murphy were on target in Ipswich Town’s 2-0 success at bottom club Blackpool.
