AFC Sudbury started life without manager Chris Tracey with a 1-0 defeat at high-flying Thamesmead Town in Ryman One North.

The loss leaves the Yellows 14th in the table with 41 points from 34 matches, while Tracey instead turned out for Cornard United at centre-half in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division, but could not prevent them slipping to their 40th consecutive league defeat as they went down 2-1 to Debenham LC.

Elsewhere in the First Division, new Halstead Town manager Mark Benterman kept up his unbeaten start to life in the job with a 2-2 draw at Long Melford.

Hadleigh United’s challenge for the Thurlow Nunn Premier title was effectively ended with a 1-0 defeat at Gorleston.
