Hadleigh United’s record-breaking FA Vase came to an end in front of 1,180 fans at Tunbridge Wells’ Culverdean Stadium.

The Brettsiders were undone by a goal in each half from the hosts’ number nine Andy Irvine as Stuart Crawford’s men lost their first ever quarter-final in the competition.

AFC Sudbury’s recent good run in Ryman One North was ended by a 1-0 loss at Cheshunt, leaving the Yellows 10th in the table.

In the Thurlow Nunn League First Division, Cornard United lost 4-0 to leaders Newmarket Town for the second time in a month, Long Melford drew 1-1 with Saffron Walden Town and Halstead Town won 4-1 at Stowmarket Town.

Sudbury Rugby Club’s survival bid in London Three North East took a massive hit as hosts Wisbech moved above them out of the bottom three with a 41-5 win over the Suffolk side.

Hadleigh are also in huge danger of alipping out of Greene King IPA Eastern Counties League Division One after being crushed 99-3 by leaders Wymondham.
