Hadleigh United kept their outside hopes for the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division title alive as they won 3-1 at Ely City, while new manager Jules Mumford got his Long Melford reign off to the perfect start as they won 3-0 at March Town United.

Tom Wingfield, Chaise Guyon and Courtney Prince scored for the Villagers.

Elsewhere in the First Division, Halstead Town lost 3-2 to Great Yarmouth Town and Cornard United were beaten 3-1 by Swaffham Town.

Sudbury’s rugby side missed the chance to close the gap on the sides above them in London Three North East as they lost 20-3 to Beccles, while there was a 45-15 loss for Hadleigh at Woodbridge in Eastern Counties One.
