Thetford Town’s 2016-17 Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division campaign got off to the best possible start with a 4-0 victory away at FC Clacton on Saturday afternoon.

Robbie Priddle scored the away side’s first two goals with strikes either side of the half-time whistle.

Then, the points were secured with further goals from Sam Bond and Ryan Fuller, meaning that Danny White’s men are the early table toppers.

However, there was not such positive news for new Hadleigh United boss Stuart Alston, who saw his side crash to a 2-0 defeat at Fakenham Town.

In the First Division, a Matt Crick double wrapped up a 2-1 win for Halstead Town over Needham Market Reserves, while AFC Sudbury’s second string were 2-0 victors away at Wisbech St Mary.
