Teams are needed to take part in the Football Association’s girls’ football festival, which is coming to Suffolk.

The two-day World Cup-themed event will be held at the Gainsborough Sports Centre in Ipswich on May 24 and 25, offering girls aged five to 16 an exciting and interactive football experience.

n Recently-appointed girls and women’s football development officer Paige Shorten has set out her list of goals for her new role with Suffolk Football Association.

“I hope to drive female football forward,” said Shorten, who is a member of Norwich City Ladies. “Whether it is through 
the Suffolk Girls’ and 
Women’s League, promoting new ideas for local clubs or developing players to go on and play at a higher level.”
