Hadleigh United Reserves joined their first team in celebrating league title success on Saturday.
The Brettsiders’ second string won 2-1 at Diss Town Reserves to clinch the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League Division One title.
Hadleigh did not play their best and Toby Rose conceded a penalty on the stroke of half-time that Diss neatly tucked away just out of reach of goalkeeper Max Planck.
Harry Evans fed Sam Sharp to smash home the equaliser three minutes after the break to give the visitors confidence.
The winner arrived in the 75th minute when Toby Rose swung in a fantastic free-kick that caused the goalkeeper to punch away, but the ball fell to experienced captain Garry Burdett, who controlled the ball and volleyed it home.
Manager Liam Britton said: “I am proud of my young inexperienced side to be crowned champions and gain promotion.
“Even at 1-0 down I still knew we had the quality to get the result we needed.
“The boys worked hard and we got what we deserved.”
