NEEDHAM Market have snapped up young Cambridge United midifelder Jack Eades on loan, and are ready to throw him straight into the boiling pot of tonight’s Suffolk derby against AFC Sudbury.
The 19-year-old right-sided midfielder goes straight into Danny Laws’ squad for the eagerly-anticipated game at Bloomfields (7.45pm) which club have said, at lunchtime, is currently going ahead.
Club General Manager Andy Gould said: “Danny Laws and I are delighted to have secured the services of a talented young player and one of whom his parent club have high hopes for the future.
“Jack is a player whose progress we have monitored for some time and when the opportunity to add him to our squad presented itself, it was an easy decision to make.”
He added: “It is anticipated that the move will be of great benefit to both parties, we are gaining a talented and versatile player at a crucial time in our push for promotion, whilst Cambridge United and the player himself will look to reap the benefit of the experience of first team football, at a time when every game he plays in is an important one.”
Needham’s most recent signing previous to Eades, former Chelmsford striker Kris Lee from Maldon & Tiptree, will not be able to make his debut for the Marketmen tonight due to being unavailable for the match.
A bumper crowd is expected at Bloomfields to watch the league-leaders take on play-off chasing Sudbury.
