Long Melford A side were left celebrating after being crowned Feering Falcons YFC Paul Larner Memorial Five-a-Side Tournament champions.

As one of two teams entered into the competition by the club, the A team progressed through their group following two 3-0 wins, a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 defeat with goals coming courtesy of Freddie McCracken, Edward Murray, George Ince-Slater and Bryn Gartland.

A 1-0 semi-final success over Feering Falcon A saw them progress to a final encounter against Elmden Rover B, where a second-half brace from Gartland and further strike from McCracken proved enough to overturn a 1-0 deficit and lift the title.

Meanwhile, the B team narrowly missed out on progressing from their group with two victories, one draw and two defeats.

Among the scorers were Deano Ablitt, Freddie Couch and Zinzan Forster.
