SUFFOLK GIRL’S AND WOMEN’S LEAGUE

Long Melford Ladies 3 Brandon Town Ladies 2

Long Melford bounced back to winning ways after coming out on top against Brandon Town in a 3-2 victory.

After falling behind after just five minutes, Melford responded with Jess Clark darting between two defenders before firing home a leveller, only for Brandon to retake the lead moments later to take a 2-1 advantage into the break.

Melford started the second half in determined fashion and brought themselves level again as Clark lashed home a spectacular 25-yard effort to leave the goalkeeper stranded.

With momentum behind them, the home side poured forward in search of a winner and were rewarded when substitute Megan Partridge received a pass inside the area, beat a defender and slotted the ball home to seal all three points.
