Leyton Orient to visit Hadleigh in pre-season

HADLEIGH United have announced their full list of pre-season fixtures, which includes visits from League One Leyton Orient and last season’s Ryman One North champions Leiston.

Stuart Crawford’s side will begin their warm-up to the Thurlow Nunn (formerley Ridgeons League) Premier Division campaign on Saturday, July 7, when they will head to Ipswich Wanderers.

The following Saturday they will be away to Woodbridge Athletic, now renamed Ipswich Valley Rangers.

The club’s first home game will be a charity match against Russell Slade’s Leyton Orient on July 21 with a (3pm).

On Tuesday, July 24, new Ryman Premier outfit Leiston will be the visitors to the Millfield (7.45pm).

Hadleigh will head to Grundisburgh on July 28, finishing off their friendlies with a home game against Ryman One North’s Maldon and Tiptree on July 31. All the away matches will be kicking off at 2.30pm.

Hadleigh United are currently seeking a new manager for their reserve team, which plays in the south division of the Thurlow Nunn League. Previous manager Jason Curtis has moved away to concentrate on coaching youngsters.

n At Long Melford there is a vacancy for an experienced coach for both the first team and reserve team.

The club have just had their most successful season since 2004 and finished runners-up in the Suffolk Senior Cup final at Ipswich Town in May.

n Colne Engaine FC are playing a memorial game in memory of club legend Dickie Page this Saturday (2pm) on Burches Meadow, Pebmarsh Road, Colne Engaine against a team of Engines veterans. Spectators are invited to come and show their support.
