Ipswich Town name squad for AFC Sudbury friendly

FRENCH midfielder Chieck Kourouma, striker Nathan Ellington and promising youngsters Bryon Lawrence and Joe Whight are among the stand-out names set to play at AFC Sudbury tonight in a pre-season friendly (7.45pm).

With the Blues’ first team in action in the 2-1 defeat at Southend United last night, the Ipswich Town XI is set to be run by former Republic of Ireland international Mark Kenndey and fellow coach Sean McCarthy.

But Tractor Boys manager Paul Jewell is set to be in the stands at The MEL Group Stadium as the Championship club play Sudbury for the first time in several years.

A good crowd is expected for what is the Yellows’ only home pre-season friendly, with Crhis Tracey’s side having cancelled a proposed game with Colchester United as only their Under-18s were able to make it.

Ipswich have also named a squad which includes goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett, Cormac Burke, new Norweigan Academy goalkeeper Michael Crowe, striker Ronan Murray, Canadian full-back or midfielder Jaime Peters and youngsters David October and Mark Timlin and Icelandic midfielder Gunnar Thorsteinsson.
