Jamie Godbold has warned his in-form AFC Sudbury side hold no fear ahead of a trip to higher-league Hendon for their FA Trophy first qualifying round encounter on Sunday (3pm).
The Yellows head to Greater London full of confidence after back-to-back victories in Ryman League Division One North which saw them follow up a 3-1 win over Barkingside on Saturday with a hard-fought 2-1 success against Dereham Town on Tuesday to leave them second in the table and six points off top.
And having already knocked the Ryman League Premier Division outfit out of the FA Cup this season, Godbold has backed his charges to continue their rich vein of form and seal progression into the next round.
“We go into the match full of confidence,” said the Yellows boss, whose side also host Brightlingsea Regent on Tuesday.
“We knocked them out of the FA Cup this season and we’re really keen to prove it wasn’t just a one off.
“We have no fear at all, we go there with nothing to lose and so we can play without any pressure.”
James Baker is set to miss the tie through a back injury but Marcus Garnham will be aiming to continue his fine form between the sticks since making a return to the club from Lowestoft Town last week.
“We are delighted to have Marcus back, he is a really imperative player for us,” he added.
“He makes saves at important times and everyone at the club, players and supporters absolutely love him, he’s been a real possitive signing.”
