RIDGEONS LEAGUE

PREMIER DIVISION

Hadleigh United 3

Kirkley and Pakefield 1

THIS victory on Saturday was revenge for Hadleigh following a 5-2 defeat at Kirkley in November.

The home side were again managed by Alan Dilloway in place of the indisposed Stuart Crawford.

Hadleigh were soon attacking, with Luke Wade, a loan signing from Needham Market, quickly settling down as leader of the attack.

The first goal came after 31 minutes when Kris Rose nodded the ball across goal where Ben Deacon converted from close range.

Six minutes later Liam Jennings hammered in number two from 20 yards.

At the interval Hadleigh looked to be on their way to a big victory as they had dominated the first period.

However, Kirkley came more into the game in the second half and they reduced the deficit on the hour as Ryan Crisp scored with a shot off the underside of the bar.

For a while Hadleigh were on the back foot, with keeper Daniel Heath kept fully active as they had to dig deep to maintain their narrow lead.

But chances did come at the other end, and in stoppage time Ollie Canfer scored after Deacon’s header had been pushed out by the keeper, Canfer netting from a narrow angle.

n Goals by Trevor Vinyard and Luke Waugh earned a 2-2 draw for Hadleigh Reserves at Felixstowe. The Seasiders scored twice in the closing stages.
