Hadleigh United into FA Vase quarter-finals

Marcus Josiah scored a second-half winner as Hadleigh United reached the quarter-finals of the FA Vase for the first time.

The Brettsiders, who are now just two wins from the final at Wembley Stadium, will find out their last eight opponents on Monday morning.

United were under the cosh for long spells of their fifth-round encounter at Ampthill Town, but took the lead when James Evans’ cross-cum-shot found its way into the net.

The home side levelled after the break through Gary Ridgeway and seriously tested goalkeeper Darren Moyes on several occasions, but it was Hadleigh who won it in the 68th minute when Josiah headed the ball into the roof of the net.

Watch our video with match winner Josiah on the Free Press website on Monday — where we will also reveal who Hadleigh have drawn in the quarter-finals.
