Hadleigh United get away draw in FA Vase

Hadleigh United’s reward for knocking Oxhey Jets out of the FA Vase is a trip to AFC Emley in the fourth round on January 19.

AFC Emley were formed when the previous club Emley — who played West Ham United in the third round of the FA Cup in 1997/98 — were relocated to Wakefield in 2000.

Emley play in Baris Northern Counties East League Division One, a level lower than Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Hadleigh.

The winners of the tie will be just three wins from the final, which is due to take place at Wembley Stadium.

Full report and reaction to the draw and Saturday’s win over Jets in Thursday’s Free Press.
